Senecio - String of Bananas

Senecio radicans, commonly known as String of Bananas, is a playful and vigorous trailing succulent loved for its cascading strands of banana-shaped leaves. Its glossy, bright green foliage forms long, trailing vines that spill beautifully over the edges of pots, making it an ideal choice for hanging baskets, shelves, or windowsills.

Compared to its cousin, String of Pearls, String of Bananas is slightly easier to grow and more resilient, making it a favourite among beginners and experienced plant lovers alike. In the right conditions, it produces small, white, cinnamon-scented flowers, though the foliage remains the star of the show.

String of Bananas thrives in bright, indirect light and needs well-draining soil to prevent overwatering issues. It’s a low-maintenance, drought-tolerant succulent that adds instant greenery and a touch of whimsy to any space.
