Orbea semota var. lutea is a fascinating and unusual succulent from the Stapeliad group, prized for its striking star-shaped yellow flowers and clumping, fleshy stems. Native to arid regions of Africa, this variety is a rare find among collectors and adds a bold, architectural touch to succulent collections.
The stems are green with purple spotting, square in shape, and grow in upright clusters. In warmer months, the plant produces exotic star-like flowers with a yellow base and delicate red markings or spots. As with many Orbea and Stapelia relatives, the flowers may emit a mild scent to attract pollinators, which makes them even more intriguing.
