Add a touch of the exotic and visually stunning to your succulent collection with Huernia zebrina variegata. This captivating stapeliad showcases the unique beauty of its species with the added allure of variegation. Its fleshy, toothed stems display a fascinating interplay of colors, typically featuring shades of green and creamy yellow or white, creating a captivating striped effect. But the real showstopper is its distinctive, donut-shaped flower adorned with zebra-like stripes, making it a truly remarkable and sought-after plant.

Key Features:

  • Striking Variegated Stems: The four or five-angled stems are beautifully marked with contrasting stripes of green and creamy yellow or white, providing visual interest even when not in bloom.
  • Unique "Lifesaver" Flowers: Its characteristic flowers are a marvel to behold. Shaped like miniature lifesavers or donuts, they feature bold, zebra-like stripes of maroon or dark red on a yellow or cream background.
  • Relatively Easy to Care For: Like other stapeliads, Huernia zebrina variegata is generally low-maintenance, making it a rewarding plant for enthusiasts of all levels.
  • Conversation Starter: Its unusual appearance, both in stem and flower, makes it a fantastic conversation piece and a unique addition to any plant display.
  • Compact Growth Habit: Its manageable size makes it ideal for growing in pots on windowsills, shelves, or as part of a succulent arrangement.

Care Instructions:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight to maintain vibrant variegation and encourage flowering. Avoid intense, direct midday sun, which can scorch the stems.
  • Watering: Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is a common cause of problems for this plant. Reduce watering significantly during the cooler months.
  • Soil: Use a well-draining succulent or cactus potting mix.
  • Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures during its active growing season (spring and summer). Protect from frost.
  • Potting: Repot when the plant outgrows its container, typically every 1-2 years. Ensure the new pot has good drainage.

The first photo serves a display purpose only. The succulent plant housed in the red pot comes in a 130mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, but may vary slightly because no two succulents are the same.
