Echeveria 'Purple Afterglow' is a stunning hybrid succulent known for its large, luminous rosettes of powdery lavender to purple leaves, often highlighted with vivid pink edges. This variety is a cross between Echeveria shaviana and Echeveria cante, inheriting the best of both with its soft, velvety texture and vibrant coloration. Under bright sunlight, the colors intensify, making 'Purple Afterglow' a standout feature in succulent arrangements and garden landscapes. Its sculptural form and pastel hues create an eye-catching focal point wherever it’s placed.

Characteristics:

  • Large rosettes that can grow up to 30-40 cm in diameter.

  • Broad, fleshy lavender-purple leaves with neon pink margins.

  • Coated with a fine layer of powdery farina, giving a frosted appearance.

  • Produces tall flower stalks with bright coral-orange flowers during summer.

  • Excellent for statement pots, succulent gardens, and outdoor landscapes in mild climates.

Care Tips:

  • Light: Requires bright sunlight for the best coloration. Full sun to partial shade is ideal. Indoor plants should be placed in the sunniest spot available.

  • Watering: Water deeply but infrequently. Let the soil dry completely between watering. Avoid overhead watering to protect the farina.

  • Soil: Plant in well-draining cactus or succulent soil. Amend with perlite or pumice for enhanced drainage.

  • Temperature: Prefers warm, dry conditions. Protect from frost as it is not cold-hardy.

  • Fertilizing: Feed with a diluted, balanced succulent fertilizer during the active growing season (spring and summer).

  • Propagation: Easily propagated from leaf cuttings or offsets.

  • Maintenance: Gently remove any dead lower leaves to maintain appearance and discourage pests like mealybugs.

The first four photos serves a display purpose only. The succulent plant housed in the red pot comes in a 130mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, but may vary slightly because no two succulents are the same.
