 The common name "Mexican Snowball" is derived from the plant's resemblance to small, rounded snowballs. This succulent is often called "Snowball" due to its tightly packed rosettes that give it a spherical appearance.

Flowers:

  • Echeveria elegans produces slender flower stalks that emerge from the center of the rosettes.
  • These stalks can reach up to a foot in height and bear clusters of small, bell-shaped flowers in shades of pale pink or coral.
  • Flowers in spring with bright pink lantern shaped flowers which are tipped in yellow. 

Growing/Leaves:

  • Grey leaves form tight rosettes which offset to form small mounds up to 20cm tall and will spread up to 30cm.
  • In terms of care, Echeveria elegans is relatively easy to grow.
