Appearance:

Leaves: The most distinctive feature is its large, broad, heart-shaped leaves. Each leaf is a unique canvas of creamy white or light green, dramatically splashed, mottled, or streaked with darker green. This variegation creates a marbled or almost abstract pattern, making each leaf a work of art. The distribution of white and green can vary significantly from leaf to leaf, adding to its charm. Care:

Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch or two of soil feels dry. It's absolutely crucial to have well-draining soil to prevent root rot, a common problem with Dieffenbachias. Allow any excess water to drain completely after watering. Overwatering is a much more common problem than underwatering.   

Temperature: 'White Blizzard' prefers warm, consistent temperatures, ideally between 65°F and 80°F (18°C and 27°C). Avoid exposing it to cold drafts, sudden temperature fluctuations, or temperatures below 60°F (15°C).

Humidity: Like many tropical plants, Dieffenbachias appreciate higher humidity levels. You can increase humidity by misting the plant regularly, placing it on a pebble tray filled with water (ensuring the pot isn't sitting in the water), or using a humidifier. Dry air can cause the leaf tips to brown.   

Soil: Use a well-draining, peat-based potting mix that's rich in organic matter. A mix specifically formulated for tropical plants, or a standard potting mix amended with perlite or orchid bark to improve drainage, will work well.   

Fertilizing: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid fertilizing during the winter months when the plant's growth slows down.   

Air Purification: Like many houseplants, Dieffenbachias can contribute to improved indoor air quality by filtering out certain toxins.
