Delosperma Pruinosum

Delosperma, commonly known as Ice Plant or Hardy Ice Plant, is a genus of succulent plants in the family Aizoaceae. Native to southern Africa, Delosperma species are renowned for their ability to thrive in arid and rocky environments. These plants are appreciated for their colorful flowers, low-growing habit, and ability to withstand harsh conditions.

Delosperma plants are characterized by their trailing or mat-forming growth habit. They typically have succulent, fleshy leaves that are cylindrical or triangular in shape. The leaves are often small, elongated, and vary in color from green to gray-green, depending on the species and cultivar.

Delosperma plants are known for their ability to bloom profusely, creating a stunning display of color. The flowering period typically occurs during the spring and summer months, attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies.

They prefer well-draining soil and can tolerate poor soil conditions, making them ideal for rock gardens, slopes, or container plantings.
