Key Features:

Caudex:

• It's a caudiciform succulent, meaning it develops a swollen base (caudex) that stores water. This is a key survival mechanism in its native dry habitat.   
• The caudex has a striking appearance, with peeling, yellowish-green bark.

Flowers and Fruit:

• Small, inconspicuous greenish-cream flowers.
• Followed by clusters of reddish to purplish-black berries that resemble grapes (hence its common name, "Namibian Grape").   

Additional Information:

• Its unique appearance makes it a popular choice among succulent collectors. 
• It's a slow-growing plant.  
• It is also known by the common names of: wild grape, tree grape, and Droog-my-keel.
