Cussonia paniculata subsp. sinuata, often referred to as the Mountain Cabbage Tree, is a distinctive variety of the more commonly known Cussonia paniculata.This subspecies is native to South Africa.
It features a thick, woody trunk with a gnarled appearance and a canopy of large, umbrella-like leaves at the top, giving it a palm-like silhouette that is quite striking. The leaves of Cussonia paniculata subsp. sinuata are one of its most notable features.
Cussonia paniculata subsp. sinuata is used as a focal point in gardens, particularly in xeriscapes or Mediterranean landscapes.It can be grown in large containers where its striking appearance makes it an excellent feature plant for patios or courtyards.
This plant is extremely drought-tolerant.Thrives in full sun to partial shade. Full sun promotes the best growth and form.Prefers well-draining soil.
