Cotyledon Tomentose Ladismithiensis
Cotyledon tomentosa 'Ladismithiensis', commonly known as Bear's Paw or Pussy's Ears, is a unique and eye-catching succulent plant that belongs to the Crassulaceae family. It is a cultivar derived from the species Cotyledon tomentosa, native to the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
The Bear's Paw succulent features a compact rosette of leaves that grow in a dense, overlapping pattern. The leaves are oval-shaped and covered with dense, silver-white hairs, giving them a soft and velvety texture. The hairs serve as an adaptation to protect the plant from excessive sunlight and reduce water loss through evaporation.
During the flowering season, which typically occurs in late winter or early spring, Cotyledon tomentosa 'Ladismithiensis' produces tall, upright stalks adorned with clusters of tubular, bell-shaped flowers.
This succulent is relatively easy to care for. It thrives in bright, indirect sunlight and prefers well-draining soil.Due to its compact size and attractive foliage, Cotyledon tomentosa 'Ladismithiensis' is popular for both indoor and outdoor plant displays. It is often included in succulent arrangements, rock gardens, or grown as a standalone specimen.
