Native to South Africa, Conophytum bilobum, also known as the "Living Pebble" or "Button Plant," is a captivating succulent from the Aizoaceae family. Renowned for its remarkable ability to mimic stones and pebbles, this unique plant has adapted to blend seamlessly into its rocky habitat.

Distinctive Features

Pebble-Like Body – Its smooth, bilobed (two-lobed) structure resembles a small stone, providing natural camouflage from predators. The coloration varies, shifting between green, brown, reddish, or purplish hues depending on the environment.

Delicate, Daisy-Like Blooms – In autumn, a single vibrant flower emerges from the central fissure, with colors ranging from white, yellow, orange, to pink, adding a stunning contrast to its subtle form.

Growth Habits & Care

Sunlight – Thrives in bright, indirect light or gentle morning sun.
Soil – Requires an extremely well-draining mix, such as a cactus or succulent blend with added grit or perlite.
Watering – Has a distinct growth cycle:

• Active in autumn & spring – Water sparingly, ensuring soil dries completely between waterings.

• Dormant in summer – Withhold water almost entirely to prevent rot.
