Caralluma hesperidum, commonly known as Carrion Flower or Star Cactus, is a unique succulent plant belonging to the Apocynaceae family. Native to South Africa.
It thrives in well-draining soil and prefers bright, indirect sunlight or partial shade. It can tolerate some direct sunlight.This succulent is drought-tolerant and should be watered sparingly.
Due to its unique appearance, Caralluma hesperidum can make an interesting addition to succulent gardens, rock gardens, or xeriscapes.
Caraluma hesperidium has curved stems up to 20 cm long. The colours range from whitish green to grey green and are marbled in brownish purple. Really interesting colours, dark maroon flowers appear from summer to autumn. Morning sun is best, and repot yearly. Keep dry during winter, and only water when dry.
