Care Guide

Light: Bright light with gentle direct sun is ideal. Protect from sudden exposure to intense afternoon sun, particularly during very hot weather.

Water: Water thoroughly when the growing medium is completely dry. Avoid frequent watering or allowing the roots to remain wet.

Soil: Use a gritty, highly free-draining cactus and succulent potting mix.

Position: Best grown in a bright, well-ventilated position. Suitable for patios, balconies, greenhouses and protected outdoor cactus displays.

Feeding: Apply a diluted cactus fertiliser occasionally during the active growing season.

Maintenance: Very little maintenance is required. Keep the plant dry during extended cool or wet periods and ensure excellent drainage.

Good to Know

Growth rate, spine development, body colour and flowering can vary depending on plant maturity, season, sunlight and growing conditions. Flowers generally appear once plants reach sufficient maturity and are grown under favourable conditions.
