Alluaudia procera, commonly known as the Madagascar Ocotillo or the Alluaudia Tree, is a unique and fascinating succulent plant that is native to the arid regions of Madagascar. With its distinctive branching structure and spiny foliage, Alluaudia procera is an eye-catching addition to any succulent collection or arid landscape.

Growing:

  • Alluaudia procera is known for its unique growth habit, with stems that can reach heights of up to 30 feet (9 meters) in their native habitat.
  • In cultivation, the tree usually reaches a more manageable height of around 6 to 15 feet (2 to 4.5 meters).

Special Features:

  • It prefers full sun exposure and well-draining soil that replicates its arid native habitat.
  • During the dry season, Alluaudia procera may lose its leaves, and the stems can take on a grayish-brown color, adding to its drought-tolerant adaptations.
  • Alluaudia procera makes a striking addition to xeriscapes, desert-themed gardens, or succulent arrangements.
  • I prefer to keep these beauties in pots but they are really interesting plants.
  • Extremely drought tolerant and easy to care for.
  • Grow in morning sun to full sun.

The succulent plant housed in the red pot comes in a 190mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, but may vary slightly because no two succulents are the same.
