Agave victoriae-reginae, commonly known as Queen Victoria Agave or Royal Agave, is a distinctive and visually captivating succulent plant known for its striking and symmetrical appearance.

 Once this happens the mother plant will die but underneath a number of babies take over and start the cycle all over again. Cool hardy and morning to full sun.

Foliage:

  • Leaf Shape: Rosette-forming, with triangular leaves.
  • Leaf Color: Dark green, with distinct white markings along the leaf margins.
  • Leaf Margin: Smooth, ending in a sharp, terminal spine.
  • This beautifully formed plant is really striking as a feature plant, and is really slow growing.
  • Noted for its streaks of white along the firm upright leaves, it really is a special plant.

Growth Habit:

  • Habit: Symmetrical, slow-growing rosette.
  • Leaf Arrangement: Leaves are arranged in a tight spiral pattern.
  • Agave victoriae - reginae is a slow-growing plant that forms a compact rosette of thick, dark green leaves with white margins and small, dark teeth along the edges.
  • Once the plant reaches maturity, approximately forty years it will send out a long flower spike up to 4 metres in length.
  • The plant typically grows to about 1-2 feet tall and wide and prefers well-draining soil and full sun to partial shade.

Uses:

  • Striking specimen plant for rock gardens, dry landscapes, or container gardens.
  • Suitable for modern or architectural garden designs.
  • Adds a regal and elegant touch to succulent collections.

It is a drought-tolerant plant that is well-suited to hot, dry environments. In the summer, it produces a tall flowering stalk with greenish-yellow flowers that are attractive to bees and other pollinators. It is also a great choice for those who are looking for a low-maintenance plant, as it requires little water or fertilizer once established.
