This cultivar prefers well-drained soil and full to partial sun exposure. It is a relatively hardy plant, tolerant of drought and moderate cold temperatures. When mature, it produces a tall flower stalk that can reach up to 1 meter in height, bearing white or yellow flowers in the summer months.

Agave pygmae ‘Dragon Toes’ is often used in landscaping as a focal point plant or in mass plantings. Its small size and compact growth habit make it suitable for rock gardens, container planting, and xeriscapes.
