Monstera Laniata Variegata is valued for both its ornamental beauty and collector appeal. The attractive variegation can range from subtle marbling to bold sectors of cream and green, giving every plant its own distinctive appearance. Its climbing habit allows growers to train the plant onto a moss pole, totem, or support where it can develop larger and more mature foliage over time.

Like many variegated plants, growth may be slower than fully green forms due to the reduced chlorophyll in the lighter portions of the leaves. However, its unique foliage patterns and tropical character make it a rewarding addition to a rare plant collection.

Want your succulent with a pot?

This plant has been grown in a 130 mm nursery pot, so that size is a useful guide when selecting a decorative pot for home. We usually ship plants in their nursery pots where appropriate to help minimise root disturbance during transport.

Care Guide

Light

Provide bright, indirect light to support healthy growth and maintain strong variegation. Avoid prolonged exposure to harsh direct sunlight, which may scorch the lighter portions of the leaves.

Watering

Allow the top few centimetres of potting mix to dry before watering. Water thoroughly and ensure excess moisture drains away freely.

Soil

Use a premium aroid mix containing ingredients such as orchid bark, perlite, and quality potting media to provide excellent drainage and airflow around the roots.

Temperature

Thrives in warm indoor conditions and should be protected from frost and cold temperatures.

Humidity

Prefers moderate to high humidity levels. Good airflow combined with consistent humidity can help support healthy foliage development.

Fertiliser

Feed during the active growing season with a balanced indoor plant fertiliser according to label directions.

Good to Know

Providing a moss pole or climbing support can encourage larger leaves and more vigorous growth as the plant matures. Variegation patterns are naturally variable, making each plant unique. The level of variegation may differ from plant to plant.

FAQ

Is Monstera Laniata Variegata rare?

Can it be grown indoors?

Yes. It is well suited to indoor growing when provided with bright indirect light and appropriate support for climbing.

Why are the white sections of the leaves turning brown?

The lighter portions of variegated leaves are more sensitive to environmental stress. Factors such as low humidity, inconsistent watering, or excessive direct sunlight may contribute to browning.
