Euphorbia royleana is a tall, upright succulent admired for its thick, ribbed stems and impressive architectural form. Native to the Himalayan regions of India and Nepal, this hardy species is often mistaken for a cactus due to its columnar growth and spiny edges, although it belongs to the Euphorbia family.

Its strong vertical habit makes it an excellent feature plant for succulent collections, modern landscapes, courtyards, patios, and large containers. As the plant matures, it develops multiple branches that create a sculptural silhouette, making it an eye-catching focal point throughout the year.

Well suited to Australia's warm climate, Euphorbia royleana thrives in sunny positions with minimal watering. Its drought tolerance and low maintenance requirements make it an excellent choice for both experienced collectors and beginner gardeners looking for a statement plant.

Good to Know

Although Euphorbia royleana resembles a cactus, it is a true Euphorbia and produces a white milky sap if damaged. This sap can irritate skin and eyes, so gloves are recommended when pruning or handling the plant.

As the plant matures, it develops a distinctive tree-like form with multiple upright branches, making it an impressive long-term feature for gardens and landscapes. Once established, it requires very little maintenance and tolerates extended dry periods.

The succulent plant housed in the red pot comes in a 130mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, your plant may vary slightly because no two succulents are exactly the same.
