Echinocereus reichenbachii, commonly known as the Hedgehog Cactus, is a compact cactus native to the rocky regions of Texas and northern Mexico. It is well known for its dense covering of fine spines and its large, vibrant pink to magenta flowers that appear during spring and early summer.
This slow-growing cactus develops upright cylindrical stems that gradually form attractive clusters as it matures.
