Cacti - Pincushion Cactus Spinosissima V Albispina is an attractive compact cactus prized for its dense covering of pale to whitish spines and beautifully structured growth. The closely arranged spines create an eye-catching textured appearance, making this cactus a standout addition to both beginner and established cactus collections.
As the plant matures, it develops a more pronounced upright to cylindrical form and may produce charming flowers around the upper portion of the plant under favourable conditions. Its combination of distinctive spination, compact growth and easy-care nature makes it an excellent choice for decorative pots, cactus arrangements, sunny patios and protected outdoor collections.
With bright light, excellent drainage and careful watering, this drought-tolerant cactus is relatively straightforward to maintain and well suited to Australian cactus collections.

Water: Water thoroughly, then allow the growing medium to dry completely before watering again. Reduce watering considerably during cooler periods.
Soil: Use a gritty, highly free-draining cactus and succulent potting mix. Excellent drainage is essential.
Position: Ideal for bright patios, balconies, greenhouses and protected outdoor cactus displays. Good airflow is recommended.
Temperature: Prefers warm, relatively dry conditions. Protect from prolonged cold, frost and excessive winter rainfall.
Feeding: Apply a diluted cactus fertiliser occasionally during the active growing season. Avoid excessive fertilising.
Maintenance: Minimal maintenance is required. The most important factors are avoiding overwatering and providing sufficient light and drainage.
