Mammillaria mystax, commonly known as the Pincushion Cactus, is a charming, compact cactus native to Mexico. It forms a rounded to slightly cylindrical shape covered in neat rows of tubercles (small bumps), each tipped with clusters of fine white radial spines and a few longer central spines. In spring, it produces a lovely crown of pink to magenta funnel-shaped flowers that encircle the top of the plant, adding a splash of vibrant colour to its prickly charm.
