Anthurium Melito - 100mm Pink Anthurium Plant

Anthurium Melito is a compact pink Anthurium plant admired for its soft dark pink blooms, glossy green leaves, and tidy tropical growth habit. Its colourful flowers and fresh foliage make it a beautiful choice for Australian indoor spaces, office desks, shelves, decorative pots, and covered patios.

Also known as a Pink Flamingo Flower, Anthurium Melito produces attractive pink spathes with a matching spadix, creating a long-lasting display of colour. The lush green foliage forms a neat base beneath the flowers, giving the plant ornamental appeal even when it is not in peak bloom.

With the right care, this Anthurium can flower repeatedly throughout the year. Its compact size makes it ideal for apartments, bright indoor rooms, tabletops, and growing plant collections without needing too much space.

Want your plant with a pot?

This plant has been grown in a 100mm nursery pot, which is a useful size guide if you are choosing a decorative pot for your home. We usually ship plants bare root for freshness and to help keep delivery costs down, but we are happy to pot your plant on request.

Care

Light

Place your Anthurium Melito in a bright position with plenty of indirect light. Avoid strong direct afternoon sun, as it may scorch the leaves and flowers.

Watering

Water when the top few centimetres of the potting mix begin to dry. Keep the mix lightly moist, but avoid overwatering or leaving the plant sitting in water.

Temperature

Anthurium Melito prefers warm indoor conditions between 18°C and 28°C. Protect it from cold drafts, frost, and sudden temperature changes.

Humidity

Anthuriums enjoy moderate to high humidity. If your home is dry, occasional misting or placing the plant near other indoor plants can help support healthy growth.

Soil

Use a free-draining indoor plant or aroid potting mix. A mix containing bark, perlite, coco coir, and quality potting media can help improve airflow around the roots and reduce the risk of waterlogging.

Fertiliser

Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser during spring and summer, following the product directions. Reduce feeding during the cooler months when growth naturally slows.

Good to know

The colourful part often called the “flower” is actually a modified leaf called a spathe. The true flowers develop on the central spadix. Remove spent blooms and older leaves to keep the plant looking tidy and encourage fresh growth.

As with many Anthuriums, this plant should be kept out of reach of pets and children, as it contains calcium oxalate crystals that may cause irritation if chewed.
