Mangave Night Owl

Mangave 'Night Owl' is a striking succulent hybrid that combines the best traits of Agave and Manfreda. With its broad, arching leaves in a deep, dusky green—almost black—this variety adds a rich, moody tone to any garden or container. The foliage is speckled with subtle burgundy spots and edged with soft, flexible teeth, offering a dramatic yet approachable look.

Key Characteristics:

• Foliage: Wide, smooth leaves in a dark, smoky green to nearly black tone, with fine burgundy spotting.
• Growth Habit: Compact rosette form with gentle arching leaves.
• Size: Typically reaches 20–30 cm tall and up to 40–50 cm wide.
• Texture: Slightly softer and more flexible than traditional agaves, making it easier to handle.

Care Tips:

• Light: Thrives in full sun to partial shade. Full sun enhances the dark coloration and spotting.
• Watering: Water deeply but infrequently. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings.
• Soil: Requires well-draining soil; cactus or succulent mix is ideal.
• Temperature: Heat tolerant and moderately cold-hardy. Protect from frost or extended freezing temperatures.
• Fertilising: Feed sparingly in spring and summer with a balanced, diluted fertiliser.
• Potting: Excellent for decorative containers, rock gardens, or xeriscaping.
