Pachypodium Madagascar Palm

Pachypodium lamerei, commonly called the Madagascar Palm, is a striking succulent native to the arid regions of Madagascar. Although it's called a palm, it's actually more closely related to cacti and other succulents. It's admired for its unique, spiny trunk, lush green foliage, and beautiful white or yellow flowers.

Appearance

• Trunk/Stem: The most distinctive feature is its thick, succulent trunk covered in sharp spines. This trunk serves as a water reservoir, enabling the plant to survive in its dry, native habitat.

• Leaves: Long, slender, and green leaves cluster at the top of the stem, creating a palm-like appearance. The leaves may drop during dormancy periods.

• Flowers: In the blooming season, typically summer, it produces clusters of fragrant, white or yellow flowers, adding a touch of elegance to this already remarkable plant.
